Curtis Industrial Compressors - Loaded with Rugged Features

• Valves - Valve seat constructed from high carbon steel. Oversized hardened plate & springs are stainless steel - all designed for provide maximum performance & extended life.
• Cylinder Heads - Close grained cast iron with cooling fins. Individual heads on each cylinder for maximum efficiency.
• Piston Pins - Hardened ground and lapped to precision tolerance and weight balanced.
• Cylinders - Deep finned close grained cast iron with alloys added for minimum wear. Precision honed to rigid specifications.
• Connecting Rods - H section metal alloy precision bored with replaceable steel backed wrist pin bushing and high quality steel backed Babbitt shaft bearing. Nodular iron is used on the C-100 Series.
• Rings - One piece oil & compression. Modern design engineered for minimum oil consumption and maximum efficiency.
• Pistons - Cam ground metal alloy, weight balanced to minimize vibration.
• Intercooler - Tubes finned inside and out to provide maximum heat transfer. Sections and tubes removable for ease of maintenance. Large header provides pulsation dampening.
• Connecting Rod Bearings - Precision steel backed Babbitt bearings provide exceptionally long life.
• Crankcase - Close grained cast iron, large oil reservoir, convenient fill & oil level gauges.
• Crankshaft - Ductile iron with cast on counter-weights for superior balancing effect. Journals precision ground and finished for long bearing life.
• Main Bearings - Large oversized tapered roller bearings with external adjustment for long life and ease of maintenance.
• Intercooler Fan - Large heavy duty fan designed to cool the intercooler and located to cool the cylinders & heads. Belt driven through an adjustable shaft.
• Flywheel - Rugged wheel with heavy outer ring to provide maximum effect. Hub has tapered sheave for ease of assembly.
• Oil Pump - Rugged gear type pump with built-in oil by-pass for controlled constant pressure. (Centro Ring lubrication is utilized on C-100 series).
