Career Position - Air Systems Consultants in Southern California

Primary Job Objectives

Represents Benz CAS to existing customers and future prospects as a professional organization with a desire to provide the value of top quality products and exceptional after-the-sale support.
Obtains valid orders from clients in an assigned territory equaling at least 100% of the agreed upon Gross Profit Quota while (1) maintaining an adequate product mix and (2) minimizing personal operating expenses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of Benz CAS' vendor(s) production and delivery schedules.
Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
Works with inside sales support personnel to keep account activities and literature up to date
Tracks stock levels.
Coordinates customer training.
Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
Attends trade shows when requested.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the Air Systems Consultants must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience

Level I: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering and 0 - 3 years of experience in the compressed air industry or in a related area.
Level II: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering and 3 - 6 years of experience in the compressed air industry or in a related area.
Level III: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering and 6 - 9 years of experience in the compressed air industry or in a related area.
Level IV: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering and at least 9 years of experience in the compressed air industry or in a related area.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of GoldMine Contact Management systems; PowerPoint Database software; Internet software and Word Processing software.
